PEACE FLAGS

The windhorse is a Tibetan mytholigical creature who is believed to be able to transverse 4 continents simultaneously

The wind carries the message printed on the flag to the world.

Just as the wind can go everywhere, so too the message is transported to every mountain peak, every valley, every nook and cranny in the world.

Did you know that the Egyptian hieroglyphic for God is a flag?

Since the beginning of time, immemorial flags have been used by human beings to bring attention to a broad range of activities including conquering the highest mountain or another country. They have also been used to send signals. If the Queen is in residence at Buckingham Palace her ‘standard’ or flag is flown above the palace so everyone knows she is there. Similarly, when the first men landed on the moon, their initial task was to plant the American flag to let everyone know they arrived there first. Flags have also been used to send out a message of celebration and to mark festive occasions with many coloured and flamboyant banners, standards and pennants. The Tibetans print prayers, pictures of deities and messages on their flags which they believe are carried by the wind and touch the consciousness of all beings.

The message on flags4peace.com's first peace flag is
'May all beings live in peace and happiness. May every human being generate compassion and loving kindness, and the wish fulfilling precious good heart.' Lama Zopa Rinpoche
