The CleanStart program is a specialist service for people who are serious about breaking their opiate drug habit. The program is successful for all types of opiate addictions, including methadone, heroin, pethidine and morphine. The CleanStart program comprises three essential elements -

1 Assessment
Eradicating narcotics from the body and breaking the cycle of drug dependence requires physical preparedness and resolve. The CleanStart process utilises a unique evaluation method to determine the clients who will be accepted into our exclusive treatment and rehabilitation program. The CleanStart evaluation process is free of charge. In addition to evaluating potential clients, the CleanStart staff will explain all aspects of the program, including preparation and payment details. The CleanStart assessment is completely confidential and takes place during one convenient and discrete appointment. Patients not accepted on the CleanStart program will be given a full explanation and information on other appropriate rehabilitation programs.

2 Physical Detoxification
CleanStart utilises recent medical breakthroughs in the realm of drug detoxification developed in used in Europe since 1993. Our program utilises Naltrexone and is sometimes referred to as "rapid detox" or "ultra-rapid detox". Internationally the program has been used on thousands, with a success rate of over 60% abstinence, based on opiate free life two years after detoxification

Essentially the detoxification centres on the administration of a completely non-addictive antagonist (Naltrexone) to 'clean' and 'block' the body's narcotic receptors. The process takes place under sedationduring a 24 hour stay in a fully accredited, exclusive Sydney private hospital. After the detoxification is complete, Naltrexone is administered orally (a daily tablet) to establish and maintain a level of resistance to narcotics.

3 Aftercare
Detoxification is not rehabilitation. Post-detoxification, CleanStart clients work with their assigned carers and specialist psychologists to achieve long-term freedom from addiction. The rehabilitation process is individually tailored to the needs of each client and typically involves a series of one-on-one and group sessions over a minimum period of six months.

The CleanStart Detoxification and Aftercare program costs $7,500 and includes -

* Prescriptions for daily dose of Naltrexone

Note - the CleanStart program does not include the cost of oral Naltrexone. Patients are given a prescription for their daily dose of naltrexone which they fulfil directly at a pharmacy. CleanStart can advise of pharmacy's which dispense this restricted prescription.
